@ The Studio
The studio has been getting busier and busier which is great news and there has been a huge variety in the levels, ages and styles that I have been teaching. The start of the September school term is always manic time and I have found my self nearly running out teaching time at the studio however I am currently trialling a new teacher i have employed who will soon be staring home lessons in association with Keir Moore Guitar Teaching. This is a great step forward for both me and the students as the teaching times at my studio are not always ideal for every individual but now students can have the same quality of teaching but in their own homes at a time that suits them and their family best. I have only started this trial period this month so will be letting you know how it goes in next months blog. If you are interested in having guitar lessons at home please do get in touch and I would be more than happy to discuss with you. I do still have a couple of slots free at the studio on Wednesdays and Tuesdays.
As I said the studio its self is really busy at the moment and I have not only been welcoming all the new students but also been preparing and entering all my current students for their Trinity Music Exams which take place at the end of November. If you are interested in entering for an exam or would just like some more details about it then feel free to email me with any questions.
I have been gigging a lot through September with some top function bands including 29 Fingers, Firefly and Superbad. The gigs have been great and I managed to grab a video of The Fingers smashing out Bruno Mars Uptown Funk.
I have also been really busy with Soul Grenades my originals funk band and this month we have been busy in the GTA Studios recording our new EP due for release on the 29th of October. We are just finishing up some mixing and BV’s but it is sounding awesome and really looking forward to getting it out. Here is a few shots from us in the studio
- Me laying down some guitar
- Mid Song
- Chris wondering what to do with the drums
I also managed to record probably the best guitar part ever which you can see here….
As well as recording our EP in time for our release gig at the 229 club in London we have been shooting a video to go with the title track of the EP “Sunshine”. It was a long day but there are worse places to chill out in. Here is a collection of some of the shots of the day and hopefully by my next blog I should have the video up and ready to go.
As well this month i had time to pop into the Mike Panos blues jam at the Greyhound in Keston (2nd Wednesday of the month) as well as jamming with the Kritian Baker all-stars (featuring Dukes Of Havoc’s Julian Mc Lovin on drums) at the Change of Horses jam night. I will also be giggin with the Kritian Baker all-stars this friday the 16th at the ONeils Pub in Bromley featuring Mr Kirk Fletchers drummer and all round nice guy Wez the drummer so pop in if you fancy a beer.
Write off to reheasal and more tune writing for Soul Grenades, have a good month.
Thanks
Keir
